Dal Student Health & Wellness / Dal Student Life Social Media Content Creator (Halifax)
The Social Media Intern role will assist in building and maintaining the Dal Student Health & Wellness social media presence through content planning and creation for the student population. The Social Media Intern will research, present, and implement new methods of engaging students online and will be involved in creating content that fosters health, wellness, school spirit and inclusivity.
The Social Media Intern will work closely with the Student Affairs Communications Team, the Student Health Promotion Team and the Care Crew to plan and execute social media campaigns.
Time frame: December 2024 – May 2025 (with a possibility of extension into the next academic year)
Location: Dalhousie Studley Campus/Online Hybrid
Hours: 6 hours/week
Pay: $17/hour
Closing date: Friday, December 13, 2024
Key responsibilities:
- Propose and create engaging content for the Dal Student Health & Wellness social media channels. This may include creating and distributing digital content, identifying opportunities for engaging with the student audience online, planning the implementation of digital content / programming, and on camera performance.
- Create video content through Instagram Reels to:
- Promote services and resources offered through Dalhousie Student Health & Wellness
- Promotes proactive messages for staying healthy
- Showcase the clinics on campus
- Showcase events on campus
- Help students find community on campus
- Monitor activity as needed on social media
- Propose contesting ideas and other recommendations for building a social media audience
Qualifications/competencies:
- Current Dalhousie University student, in good academic standing
- Demonstrate confidence and ability to create, deliver and manage effective content on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media outlets
- Demonstrate comfortability with Canva for digital asset creation
- Experience with filming and editing video content for social media
- Demonstrates strong initiative by being able to work with minimal direction
- Demonstrates, strong communication skills, including written and verbal
- Approaches new challenges with creativity and enthusiasm
