Taylor Hersh ’21

Hi! I’m a Ph.D. student in the Biology department at Dal. I study sperm whale acoustics! Different groups of sperm whales have different dialects, and I’m looking at how these dialects vary over space and time. I love living in Halifax because I love the size of the city and being near the ocean, but I typically spend several months each year doing sperm whale fieldwork in the Caribbean! Nothing beats seeing whales in the wild and living on sailboat. In my free time I like to boulder, read, and hike.
