I’m a Haligonian and Medical Neuroscience PhD student working towards a thesis focused on understanding light-adaptation. This is the process that allows us to maintain our ability to see the environment despite varying levels of light (from sunrise to sunset) that we experience. I love sharing the science I’m learning about inside the classroom as a teaching assistant and lecturer, or off-campus with children and adults alike. As I continue learning, I look to my heroes and hope to become a voice against pseudoscience In the same vein as Timothy Caulfield. I love to read Roxane Gay and Ursula K Leguin and am slowly making a foray into cross-stitching.
